Smart Chicks Kick It in the Dollhouse + GIVEAWAY
In the summer of 2010, fans of young adult fiction began to see their favorite authors buzzing about something called the “Smart Chicks Kick-ass” tour. Author’s like Cassandra Clare, Holly Black, Melissa Marr, Kelley Armstrong, Sarah Rees Brennan and more were tweeting up a storm about this event and all the fun they would be having once they got together and mingled with fans. The result was a truly unique opportunity for fans to meet and hear all of their favorite authors in a more intimate and real way than at the major Con’s or Explo’s. Imagine walking into a coffee shop in your town and seeing a table with six NYT Best-selling authors sitting around it and giggling and joking away…it’s a fan girls dream!
The brainchild of Melissa Marr, Kelley Armstrong, and Alyson Noel; the 2010 tour was so well received that they wanted to do it again–but in different places! That’s right lovers, the 2011 Smart Chicks tour may be coming to a city near you and very soon! The Tour “Kicks It” into gear on September 27th, hop-scotches across the states for six stops (even once in Canada) until October 4th.

- October 1st, 2011 2 PM @ Burnaby Chapters, Vancouver, BC, Canada
- October 2nd, 2011 1 PM @ Northwest Book Fest, Seattle, WA -(MEGA EVENT)
- October 3rd, 2011 Time 7 PM@ Nepean Centrepoint branch of the Ottawa Public library, Chamber Room, Ottawa, ON, Canada
- October 4th, 2011 6 PM @ Schuler Books & Music, Lansing, MI

Sadly no and I won’t get to this year because I live in the UK but one day I want to take a holiday to one of their tour stops (espeacially if one of the stops is Chicago as I can combine it with a family visit) and actually meet the authors, espeacially Kelley Armstrong!

I didn’t get to see the SmartChicks tour last year and alas they’re not coming close enough to me this year either. It sounds like so much fun though.

Wow this sounds like a wonderful event coming up. I do know that we have several authors that live in our area, but I have never heard of one coming here or having a book signing. I have read about them, seen them in movies, but never actually seen one myself. I would love to one day participate in such an event, but in the meantime I will visit them vicariously through your sharing with us:) Thank you for sharing and for this awesome giveaway opportunity.
