Month of Love Guest Blog & Giveaway: Love is in the Air by Amber Kallyn

*Giveaway Now Closed*

Everyone please welcome paranormal erotic romance author, Amber Kallyn to Paperback Dolls! Amber just released the second in her Dragos series, SCORCHED, and you have a chance to win a copy of your very own after her post!

What child isn’t familiar with Valentine’s Day? This year, before we did the Valentines for school — don’t forget the candy — and all the other hoopla, my kids and I sat down and talked about the meaning behind the day.

Saint Valentine was the Patron of Love, Young People, Happy Marriages.

The history of Valentine’s Day — and its patron saint — is shrouded in mystery. But we do know that February has long been a month of romance.

What could be better than that? Ah, love. From the first bloom of anticipation to the steady, true love that comes after years of being together and working through the ups and downs.

And with love comes romance. The greatest thing I love about writing romance, is that no matter how ‘opposite’ or ‘unfitting’ characters are, they can always find a way to make their relationship work.

The saying Love Conquers All is, in my opinion, full of not just hope, but truth.

And I’m going to enjoy my Valentine’s Day. Not on February 14th as most, but today, the 19th. My hubby’s got us a babysitter (yippee) and he’s taking me out to “An unrevealed location.”

Pretty much, I expect dinner and wine. Anything else is up to him and he knows it. But he’ll choose something we both enjoy and we’ll have a blast and end up going home, at least slightly drunk (on my end at least), to make love.

Which is why I love writing Erotic Romance. Because my characters don’t just fall in love, but they have hot ‘n’ heavy, very steamy sex while they’re finding that path towards destiny.

Now, if only like my characters, I could throw a little magic around. Ah, that would be the cherry on top of the whipped cream :)

A rare Argentinean dragon shifter, Cynthianna “Anna” Hernandez has never known trust, peace or safety, not even by fleeing to the deepest wilds of Canada. When bounty hunter Garreth Dragos shows up during a blizzard, things get complicated as their inner dragons decide they’re perfect for each other. Things get worse when the dark mage hunting Anna finds them, sending his creatures to return her to his evil clutches. He’s willing to sacrifice anything and anybody to further his quest for power. Together, Anna and Garreth must trust in each other or all will be lost to evil.

Giveaway ends March 7th and the winner will be chosen by random.org on March 8th. We ask the winners to post a review of the novel someplace. Whether it is on their own blog, Amazon, GoodReads, LibraryThing or wherever, it doesn’t matter. Just help get the word out. Also, we will try to contact the winners, but we ask that you check back to see if you’ve won.

One of those rare breeds, Amber Kallyn is an Arizona native who can trace her family’s history through six generations in the state. She lives with her sexy husband, and their four very active children. Included in the menagerie are two cats (though there’s always room for more) and two dogs. We won’t count all the fish. She also writes urban fantasy under the name Higley Browne.

Amber loves the paranormal, from dragons to werewolves to vampires. She’s currently at work on her next book, probably running around the house acting out a fight scene with her collection of swords and daggers. Or maybe, wishing she had claws to practice the other fight scenes.

A voracious lover of the written word, Amber found at an early age that she could read fast. Really fast. She devours novels by the day, novellas by the hour, and is always looking to get her hands on more.
