Submitted by on August 4, 2012 – 11:00 am3 Comments

On My Wishlist is a fun weekly event hosted by Cosy Up Book Reviews (originally created by Book Chick City) and runs every Saturday. It’s where we list all the books we desperately want but haven’t actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming. It’s also an event that you can join in with too – Mr Linky is always at the ready for you to link your own ‘On My Wishlist’ post.

Honorary Doll and Guest Reviewer Teresa’s Wishlist!

Author: Kat Richardson
Book: Underground
Release: August 5th 2008
Series: Greywalker 3

Harper Blaine was your average small-time P.I. until she died for two minutes. Now Harper is a Greywalker — walking the thin line between the living world and the paranormal realm. And she’s discovering that her new abilities are landing her all sorts of “strange” cases.

Pioneer Square’s homeless are turning up dead and mutilated, and zombies have been seen roaming the underground–the city buried beneath modern Seattle. When Harper’s friend Quinton believes he may be implicated in the deaths, he persuades her to investigate. But the killer is no mere murderer–it is a creature of ancient legend. And Harper must deal with both the living and the dead to stop the monster and its master……unless they stop her first.

Author: Carrie Vaughn
Book: Kitty Steals the Show
Release: July 31st 2012
Series: Kitty Norville 10

Kitty has been tapped as the keynote speaker for the First International Conference on Paranatural Studies, taking place in London. The conference brings together scientists, activists, protestors, and supernatural beings from all over the world—and Kitty, Ben, and Cormac are right in the middle of it.

Master vampires from dozens of cities have also gathered in London for a conference of their own. With the help of the Master of London, Kitty gets more of a glimpse into the Long Game—a power struggle among vampires that has been going on for centuries—than she ever has before. In her search for answers, Kitty has the help of some old allies, and meets some new ones, such as Caleb, the alpha werewolf of the British Isles. The conference has also attracted some old enemies, who’ve set their sights on her and her friends.

All the world’s a stage, and Kitty’s just stepped into the spotlight.

Author: Chloe Neill
Book: Biting Cold
Release: August 7th 2012
Series: Chicagoland Vampires 6

Turned into a vampire against her will, twenty-eight-year-old Merit found her way into the dark circle of Chicago’s vampire underground, where she learned there was more to supernaturals than met the eye—and more supernaturals than the public ever imagined. And not all the secrets she learned were for sharing—among humans or inhumans.

Now Merit is on the hunt, charging across the stark American Midwest, tailing a rogue supernatural intent on stealing an ancient artifact that could unleash catastrophic evil on the world. But Merit is also the prey. An enemy of Chicagoland is hunting her, and he’ll stop at nothing to get the book for himself. No mercy allowed. No rules apply. No lives spared. The race is on.

So, that’s what’s on my wishlist this week – what’s on yours?

Kitt, at first I didn’t get into it, Greywalker, book one, is how some poeple find the first book of Dresden or even the Hallows, slow to get going. However I kept listening to the book and about half way through I was hooked. I’m now up to book five Labyrinth. I haven’t read anything that is comparable to the overall storyline. I was turned on to the series by an author who was teaching a workshop I was in on SavvyAuthor.com. She brought up KR for me to read because my writing falls into many categories as KR does, and I don’t just mean Urban Fantasy. RK has a thriller/mystery aspect to her writing as well as the paranormal. The series that could come close is the Abby and Ophlia series by Shirley Damgaard but that mystery series is all about witches whereas Greywalker goes into so many other things. I hope this helps, I think you’ll like it if you have the chance to read it.

One last thing, if you guys want I can go back and do reviews of the books. Reading them was out during recovery so I can go back and review them now that I’m fully functioning again.
