Southern debutante Vivienne LaBlanc can’t believe bad-boy rock star Connor Mansfield is back in town for the New Orleans annual Saints and Sinners pageant. He has a reputation as wicked as his devilish smile, and Vivi has no intention of becoming one of his latest groupies! He once crushed her high school heart, so playing the saint to Connor’s sinner should be easy. But how can Vivi get those less-than-angelic thoughts out of her head-especially when Connor’s so good at tempting her to be bad?
Ever wondered what happens to former beauty queens? Well, In Vivienne LaBlanc’s case, she volunteers on nearly every non-profit board in New Orleans. Her reputation is so clean and good it makes one wonder if she has any immoral thoughts at all.
Every year prior to Mardi Gras, one of the charities in New Orleans holds a Saints and Sinners pageant to raise money and do good works for those in need throughout the city. The Saint and Sinner nominees are a secret until they’re announced publicly, and then the competition starts in earnest.
Vivi knows she’s this year’s Saint, but has no idea who the Sinner is until the night of the big announcement. She’s shocked to learn it’s bad boy rocker Conner Mansfield. The guy who broke her heart in high school.
Watching them interact is very entertaining, especially when they continue to misinterpret what the other one does or says. But despite the mis-communication, they have chemistry. Hot chemistry.
As Vivi lets down her walls, she begins to realize Connor isn’t quite as awful as she thought, and Connor sees that Vivi isn’t the prudish goody-two-shoes he imagined. But the road to happiness isn’t paved with goodness and light, and they very nearly let each other slip away.
Funny, entertaining, steamy, frustrating, and satisfying are all words I’d use to describe this story. Whether you read contemporary romance or not, I think you’ll enjoy this one.
This sounds really good. Can’t wait to pick it up.
