Doll Lil’s Free Books and Bargains

Submitted by on June 26, 2013 – 1:42 pmOne Comment

This week’s books include a classic, a wild card, and other goodies!

First up is an author I’ve had on my TBR for a while now and I think it’s time to add her to my Summer TBR.
One Perfect Night by Bella Andre (100 pages)

One touch…One kiss…
The first time Noah Bryant meets Colbie Michaels, they collide at the top of a snowy mountain in California and sparks fly. Swamped by sudden emotion—and a desire she can’t control—Colbie panics. Before he can get her phone number or last name, she’s gone. When they end up serendipitously meeting in Seattle one week later, Noah is certain Colbie is his destiny, and he can’t make the mistake of losing her again.

One night…One forever love…
Colbie wants to believe in a happily-ever-after, but experience tells her falling for Noah is more likely to lead to a broken heart. Only, how can she resist him as he sets out to prove that they’re destined to be together? Especially when he’s intent on fulfilling every last one of her secret desires and he’s willing to keep proving it to her every day…and every sweet and sinful night.

I’m adding this one to my TBR. I looked over the reviews and it seems it was either loved or hated so I want to see for myself. Plus it has almost 5 stars….
The Wild One (The De Montforte Brothers) by Danelle Harmon

England, 1776: Lord Gareth de Montforte is known as an irresponsible rake with a heart of gold. When he takes a bullet for boldly thwarting a stagecoach robbery, he is stunned to discover that the beautiful young woman he has heroically rescued, Juliet Paige, is his deceased brother’s American fiancée, accompanied by her infant daughter. Despite his brother the duke’s refusal to acknowledge Juliet, Gareth is determined to do right by the courageous woman who crossed an ocean to give her baby her rightful name. But Juliet is wary of marrying this black sheep aristocrat, even while she is hopelessly charmed by the dashing devil. Never has she met anyone who embraces life so thoroughly, who makes her laugh, who loves her so well. And, even when it seems the odds are against them, Juliet has absolute faith that Gareth will go beyond the call of duty, risking his life itself to give her and her daughter a home — and a love that will last a lifetime.

I have been told by several people to read this one and I just found it free on Amazon!
The New Deputy in Town by B.J. Daniels

THIS NEW DEPUTY DIDN’T EXPECT HIS FIRST CASE TO INVOLVE A WEDDING AND A FUNERAL

Deputy Sheriff Nick Rogers found out small-town life meant adjusting to two things—gossips and Laney Cavanaugh. And neither was much help in solving a bridal shower murder.

Some days it appeared like everyone in Whitehorse had a secret—including their new lawman. And falling for Laney wasn’t a good way to maintain a low profile. Nick might have been new to Whitehorse, but he wasn’t above getting his hands dirty. Even if everybody in Laney’s family had it in for the victim, and they were fixing for a fight. Wedding bells were always trouble, and, unfortunately, trouble always had a way of hunting Nick down.

My favorite Jane Austen book is Emma.
I know you are probably shocked since everyone always guesses Pride and Prejudice because of my love for Darcy. The truth is I can never really make up mind about any of Jane’s book because whenever I open the cover of an Austen novel it’s always at a time in my life I need to return to something familiar and cherished and my mood can be… well moody. You can get all of her books for free download at .

I am curious so I’m downloading this one. I have to admit I’ve never heard of this author and that is probably because I tend to let myself get distracted from my goal to read and learn about new authors (many end up being only new to me).The synopsis was not that great for me but I just have a feeling about this one…
Worth The Weight by Mara Jacobs

A New Body…
A New Life…
An Old Flame?

Lizzie Hampton is literally a shadow of her former self. Having lost half her body weight, she’s headed to her small hometown to test out her new body on an old flame.
Just a harmless fling to get her self confidence back before she returns to
the city and the new man in her life.

But Lizzie’s plan has a few bumps in the road.
Finn Robbins can’t believe Liz is back in town. Desperate to be the holder of her innocence eighteen years ago, he never got the chance.
Now she’s back and he can finally check her off his to do list.

But her friends, his son, and the mysterious Annie may have something to say about that.

Did you say 89 CENTS Lil!!! Yes! Yes I did! And I just so happen to love this book!!!
A Week to Be Wicked by Tessa Dare

When a devilish lord and a bluestocking set off on the road to ruin . . . time is not on their side.

Minerva Highwood, one of Spindle Cove’s confirmed spinsters, needs to be in Scotland.

Colin Sandhurst, Lord Payne, a rake of the first order, needs to be . . . anywhere but Spindle Cove.

These unlikely partners have one week:

to fake an elopement
to convince family and friends they’re “in love”
to outrun armed robbers
to survive their worst nightmares
to travel four hundred miles without killing each other
All while sharing a very small carriage by day and an even smaller bed by night.

What they don’t have time for is their growing attraction. Much less wild passion. And heaven forbid they spend precious hours baring their hearts and souls.

Suddenly one week seems like exactly enough time to find a world of trouble. And maybe . . . just maybe . . . everlasting love.

Lil is an avid reader who gave up TV so she could greedily read every book she could get her hands on. In the process she discovered a love for contemporary romance heavily laden with humor. Lil is formerly a True Blood blogger who discovered there is more to the world than her annoying love/hate one-sided relationship with the writers of TB. She credits JR Ward for pulling her from the two dimensional world of TV viewing.

I’ve read the last one, but the others look interesting. I’ll have to give them a whirl.
