Review: Mockingjay
Day is a dreamer who has never met a stranger. She is fearless and will talk to anyone and read anything! She taught music and dance and was a singer/actress for years, performing on stages both nationally and overseas. Now married with children, she spends less time singing on stage and more time writing songs at home. But, family life has not completely slowed this chick down. She still loves an adventure and learning new things. She resides in Texas with her family, Great Dane (Sophie), Labradoodles (George & Cosmo) and Chihuahua (Juan Carlos).

I believe that Katniss has a tendency very common with teenagers (and, really, people in general) to want what she can't have. So in the first two books, with Peeta right there and Gale far away, Gale is the one she thinks she wants. But I think that now she's with Gale and Peeta's the inaccessible one, she's going to realize she really does want him.

As much as I like Peeta, I think Katniss Everdeen will end up with Gale. Even though Peeta's a real nice guy, he's very ordinary. Gale's had a very long history together with Katniss, which Peeta didn't have.

As for who Katniss will end up with, I'd like to think it's Gale (Team Gale forever), but I'm mostly convinced it will be Peeta because he had much more development than his rival. I mean, he was one of the main characters! He's definetly winning, no matter how much I wish otherwise.

TEAM GALE!!! I was on Team Gale before I even knew people were divided on the matter. But a part of me thinks since Peeta is in the books more than Gale he might end up with Katniss.

I'm not sure who she would end up with – depends on what happens in the book. I'd like to see her with Peeta but if he died in Mockingjay, I'd imagine she'd need time before considering getting together with Gale or just going solo and rebuilding her life lol.

So, since I've only read Hunger Games and haven't fully experienced the love triangle between Katniss, Gale, and Peeta yet, I'll just go with Peeta because he's adorable. :3
Without a doubt Kat should end up with Gale, I love Gale..but I love Peeta too. Ugh. Maybe she should just end up alone, the choice is too hard darnit! I wouldn't know who to choose at her age or mine and I'm almost 30!

I would really like that Katniss ends up with Peeta. She's been with Gale more in the past but she saw him just as friend/brother, so I don't think she can suddenly love him differently, unless they do something epic together to save everyone or Peeta dies. :D
I haven't read any of these books yet, so it's a little hard to say. ;) I read recently a quite convincing blog post for Gale, but Peeta sounds very good too..

Sheesh! I don't know who she will end up with! Part of me roots for Gale, who has been with her since the beginning and knows her inside and out. Part of me roots for Peeta, who has risked his life repeatedly for her and is such a "good" guy, even risking his own safety for Gale. In the end, I think it could be Gale. They have the history. Or maybe they'll find that it is more of a sibling relationship they have, and they'll remain platonic friends?

First of all, this is a great giveaway, so Thanks. I think Katniss won't end up with anyone. The capital has Peeta, and Katniss, her family, and Gale are running for their lives. I know that at least one main charcter will die, and Katniss will probably not move on. It's a sad prediction, but Suzzane Collins is way too good of an author, not to have a trick up her sleeve.
I just hope Katniss will do something that peole from all districts will alyways be talking about.

I think that Katniss is going to end up with Peeta. She didn't feel anything for him in the beginning but that has changed over the course of 2 books.

Katniss will end up with Peeta because she loves him as more than just a friend but loves Gale more like a brother, she can't decide though because the idea of ending up with only one of them scares her.
I hope she ends up with Peta. My thoughts are Gale represents her past, which she can never get back no matter how hard she tries but Peta's her future.

I used to think she'd end up with Gale…and after reading some of the comments here I'm not so sure anymore. Peeta and Gale are both great guys, and Katniss is both lucky and unlucky that she has to choose between them.
Currently I think she'll actually end up choosing Peeta, but on the inside I'm hoping she'll pick Gale instead.

I commented on the Mockingjay: Top Ten Questions. I answered them with what I thought…and I kind of added a few questions in there a bit.
Totally Team Gale. I think any future with Peeta is doomed to fail considering that the Capitol had taken away this choice (Gale v. Peeta) from Katniss when forcing her to continue the cherade of a happily in love couple or risk death as the symbol of the growing rebellion. Even if Katniss was better able to understand her feelings towards Peeta, I don't think that resentment will ever fully wash away – so I don't think she will ever be able to fully separate a future with Peeta from the future the Capitol had attempted to enforce on her. dmarkley 199 (at) gmail (dot) com
Even though I'm team Gale, I think Katniss is going to choose Peeta. The reason I say this is because if Gale was going to be chosen then he would have had a bigger role in the other two books. I think Katniss will end up with Peeta, and not only because I love Peeta more than Gale. After everything Peeta has done for her he really deserves to have Katniss love him back, and I think she does, she just doesn't realise it yet. She liked Gale first so she still thinks she likes Gale because she doesn't want to face up to the fact that Peeta has been through more with her and understands her more. But hopefully she'll realise Peeta is the one for her, otherwise I will be really sad!

Honestly I can't decide between the two guys and I don't think Katniss will either – I think it's going to come down to which one is still alive by the end of the book. Personally, I think Katniss is going to end up alone. She is really clueless and undecided about the way she feels, and she is obviously going to feel guilty and horrible having to choose one over the other. Although if she does choose, I'm hoping it's Gale. (Team GALE!)
I don't really care who Katniss will end up with. The books are about so much more than this love triangle, in Mockingjay the importance will be to survive not to decide on a boyfriend.
However I think Gale is a better match for Katniss, he's wild like her.

Okay, who I THINK she will end up with or who I WANT her to end up with?
Well, I think she will end up with Peeta, in all honesty. The entire first book built up to that. Also, I am a firm believer in "opposites attract" and Katniss and Gale are way too headstrong and similiar. Katniss herself hadn't actually thought of being with Gale romantically, even if she has known him longest.
Now for what I want. I know this is sick, but I kinda want some big dramatic sacrifice on the part of both boys. There are not enough stories out there where the main chracter doesn't get a guy at the end. Having independant Katniss by herself at the end is just something I would go for. And yes, I know, killing off both boys would cause an uproar, but it's something unique I'd like to see.
Ahhh! I can't believe I have to keep admitting this. ::hangs head:: I haven't even started them yet. I want to *so* much (which is why I love this contest!) but I've promised to stop buying books until I finish some in my TBR stack & I've been so busy, even Hunger Games hasn't gotten bought yet!

For me it's Peeta. I know that Gale is strong and is Katniss' best friend and partner in crime and all, but Peeta has the right words to say to Katniss. Peeta's words are strong and they are worth listening. He has the voice which can change people.

I *hope* that Katniss ends up with Peeta–there's something to be said for being with someone who has been through what you have, and can understand how it's affected you.
I think she's a got too much of a…security-blanket type mindset when it comes to Gale. He's familiar, he knows her, he's always been there for her–but there's no risk in loving him. With Peeta, she's scared.
And love is, in and of itself, scary. So she should be with Peeta.
(Not that I don't adore Gale. He's awesome. I just don't think she loves him the way he wants her to.)

Ummm, well I hope against HOPE that Katniss will end up with Peeta. I think he's the only person who really understands her now. They share this connection and Peeta never asks for her to be in love with him. Not really.

Erm I think Katniss is going to realize what Peeta really means to her and she will end up confessing her love for him. Katniss has known Gale all her life, so she might delude herself into thinking that she loves him (not that I dont LOVE Gale, but Peeta all the way :P)
I kind of find her situation similar to that of Alec in The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. He thinks he loves Jace because for him, Jace is a safe option unlike Magnus who he eventually claims his love for. I hope Im right ;)

My answer: She's not going to end up with any of them. It's a too difficult choice to make; one that I think Suzanne Collins will find hard too. I believe (and am really afraid) that Katniss is going to die in Mockingjay. She'll live on as a symbol of rebellion; the rallying point of everything good. Peeta and Gale will live, and her memory will forever be alive within them. They'll get married and have their own kids (without fear of the Hunger Games since the Capitol has been eradicated), and they'll tell their kids and their grandkids and so forth about the story of Katniss Everdeen, the Girl on Fire.

Part of me thinks it would be fitting if Katniss didn't end up with either Gale or Peeta. She's such a strong character on her own that I think the series would end well without her having that significant other.

I am team Gale all the way! I really think that Katniss will choose him in the end.
I've only read the first book. But at this point I think Katniss belongs with Gayle. He was her friend first and closest to her. They have much in common. Hope I win so I can read the other books soon.
I think it's likely she won't end up with either of them, though I hope she chooses Peeta. He provides needed balance for Katniss.
Assuming he doesn't die, Gale. He's her best friend, he knows Katniss so well, and Peeta faces certain death. Right from the beginning Katniss liked him. As for Peeta, it was more of a "do-it-or-die," situation. The only problem is, I don't think Gale will ever acccept her again after seeing her so much with Peeta.
Gale and Katniss for life because they would have eventually gotten married if Peeta hadn't butted in! (And practically forced her to say she liked him back on T.V.

I think Katniss will probably end up alone. Gayle assumes too much, and she'll be turned off by that; Peeta has tricked her before (granted, it was for her own good and out of love)and even though he's a really good guy, I just don't see it happening. Although! IF she ends up with anyone, and for me that's a pretty big if, it'll be Peeta. She's gotten used to being away from Gayle and they've grown apart, but Peeta has been her right hand for a while and whne he's away she really seems to miss him.

well I have only read The Hunger Games, and havent gotten around to reading Catching Fire, so I guess I am a bit behind, but theres always so much to read. I think Katniss will probably end up with Peeta, I am fairly good at figuring out what is going to happen in books and movies, so thats my guess. There is a connection with Peeta, and after all they went through a bond. so thats my best guess by reading the 1st book.

I'm not sure who Katniss will end up, if their of them. But I would like her to end up with Gale. To me, they're a far better match. They know each other so well and maybe this is crazy, but I feel like the life stuff they've been through together matters far more than how Katniss and Peeta came to be close going through the games together. I've no doubt Katniss has real feelings for Peeta as well, but I think she and Gale have a deeper, more lasting bond which is more likely to last. So while I don't have any idea at all which way it'll go, I'd much rather it be Gale.

Well I know who I want Katniss to end up with. I want her to end up with Peeta, and to be honest, if she ends up with either of them, I still think it'll be Peeta.
At this point, it'd be kind of weird for her to end up alone, but with Katniss you never know, she does have that fierce independent and persistent streak.
I don't think she feels romantic love for Gale though, she loves him, but like she loves Prim, as family. With Peeta it's more, he's been watching her since they were first in school, and she's been watching him ever since he threw her that bread. She didn't even realize how much she'd been watching him until they went to the Hunger Games either, but obviously he's been a big part of her life, despite her failing to notice that he was.
Katniss isn't the greatest at thinking about her own feelings, but whenever she allows herself to, she denies what she's feeling, and usually it's involving how she feels for Peeta, and she denies it so she doesn't hurt others or complicate things. When she lets herself just feel she craves his presence, like when she would fall asleep in the Capitol without him or even back at Victor Village in District 12, she wanted Peeta to be there to comfort her, Peeta not Gale. It's those moments where she lets her guard down and expresses her true feelings that you can see how much she cares for Peeta. And again, after she's rescued from the Hunger Games in Catching Fire, Peeta was the only one she thought of, she didn't even think of Gale, or her family until Gale was at her bedside.
For Katniss, it's Peeta all the way. :)

I think(and hope)that Katniss will end up with Peeta. Gale, for me, gives off a more friendly than lovey-dovey persona. Peeta loves Katniss selflessly with his whole being, and he was willing to give up his life for her…TWICE! If I was Katniss I would go for the boy with the bread:)

Honestly I pegged Peeta once as a weakling (only slight), especially from the first book, if I had to choose one word for him. However, the fact that Katniss does whatever it takes to protect him even though it had to do with winning in the arena, can't help noticing the awesomeness that a girl can finally rescue the guy; that, and for the fact that he showed he would do anything for her, so far, anyway.
Gale is undeniably one with strength, but to have two strong people with each other, there'd bound to be clashes. They're too tough together, which is not necessarily bad.
All in all, I'm going with Peeta. But I absolutely can't wait to find out who it actually is!!! :)

Though I'm Team Gale, it's pretty obvious Katniss is gonna end up with Peeta. There's no possibly way Suzanne Collins would forsake him, and towards the end of Mockingjay, you can tell Gale is slipping and there's a somewhat silent feud between him and Katniss.
It has to be Peeta. Katniss really cares about Gale but she spends so much time on Peeta in the books that Gale just seems to fade into the background.
