Smart Chicks Kick It 2.0: Interview with Nina Kiriki Hoffman

What made you decide to participate in the Smart Chicks Kick It Tour this year?

A nice invitation from Melissa Marr. An exciting opportunity to spend some time with other YA authors.

Do you have a favorite memory from last year’s tour or is this your rookie year?

I wasn’t on this tour last year. I hope to make good memories this year. :)

What are you most looking forward to on the tour this go around?

Meeting smart chicks, listening to them talk about their writing lives, buying books.

One thing is for certain…there are some amazing authors on this tour with awesome books… Do you find time to read books by any of your fellow authors on tour? If so, who?

I have read and enjoyed Melissa Marr’s WICKED LOVELY quintet, and I’ve also read & enjoyed most of Kelley Armstrong’s OTHERWORLD books. I’m looking forward to examining books by the other chicks!

What is next for you?

Now that I’ve written the first two books in the MAGIC NEXT DOOR series from Viking (THRESHOLDS and MEETING), I’ll be writing another YA stand-alone novel for Viking, plus short stories hither and yon.
