Purchase: - Barnes & NobleJade Bennett couldn’t be happier to escape her past for the quiet ranching town of Sunshine, Idaho. Plus, there’s nothing like working for veterinarian Dell Connelly. And though Dell has no intention of settling down, Jade’s strength and sass are enticements no red-blooded male can resist.
I don’t see any point in dawdling….. Let’s get down to the good stuff. Animal Attraction is sexy, laugh out loud funny in places, and is nicely peppered with angst. Jade Bennet is dealing with being a victim of a violent crime and leaves her hometown of Chicago. She ends up in Sunshine, Idaho where she finds a job with the local hunky vet Dell Connelly. Dell is an easy going guy who just so happens to built like a god and can charm any animal or woman into his arms.
I don’t want to give to much away but I will say I couldn’t put this one down. Despite the editing issues the book flows well and the story unfolds in a believable way. The dynamics between the characters is compelling and supporting players are easy to invest in. Ms. Shalvis has made me a believer in this series. Just like her Lucky Harbor series, Sunshine citizens are people you want to spend time with. You want to get to know them better and you want to see them get their happy endings.
I strongly recommend Animal Attraction to contemporary romance fans. I suggest you read Animal Magnetism first! And then when you are sufficiently in love with the men of Sunshine you can join me in pining for the next book in this very enjoyable series!
All right I now that I have made it quite obvious I am a fan of Jill Shalvis. I have to get this off my chest. I am not a fan of the editor of Animal Attraction. AA is a strong well written contemporary romance. It’s a very nice follow up to Animal Magnetism.
In my opinion it’s the stronger of the two books. What made me a wee bit annoyed were some very obvious and glaring editing issues. And as I am sure many readers will agree even with me it can distract from the story and can cause a pause in the flow of a story.
What really disappointed me is if these issues had been addressed Animal Attraction would have been a very smooth read. I have read thousands of books I know every single one of them has an issue or two but for me this went beyond the typical. In the end I still the book is strong enough 99% of readers will look beyond the editing issues and about 75% of the readers on Animal Attraction will be so caught up on it’s rich content they won’t even notice it!
