In The Merry XXXmas Book of Erotica Alison Tyler brings together 24 playful, pansexual stories to jingle your sleigh bells and curl your mistletoe. On, Cupid! On, Prancer! On, Vixen!

Whether you’ve been naughty or nice, Santa has a treat just for you. Replete with visions of sugar plums, big juicy candy canes, and stockings eager to be filled, The Merry XXXmas Book of Erotica is a campy, blazing-hot feast of holiday erotica that will have you wishing the season of giving lasted all year long. Lynne Jamneck’s What I Really Want for Christmas” is a tale of friendship igniting to passion with the help of an interfering family, good whiskey, and a Santa suit. In Saskia Walker’s Rapt,” two strangers share a cab into London on Christmas Eve and explore each other’s holiday packages. And in Tom Piccirilli’s Spider Monkey Loves Rudolph,” a scorned screenwriter gets her revenge on an agent at a Beverly Hills Christmas party.

When it comes to Christmas time there is really only one question that needs to be answered: Have you been naughty or nice? While I tend to be nice (for the most part) during my daily life, my reading habits slip into the naughty category. And what could be naughtier than Christmas erotica? With this in mind, I decided to read Alison Tyler’s anthology, The Merry XXXmas Book of Erotica.
As you can tell from the previous reviews that I have written, I am a huge fan of Ms. Tyler’s work. Her anthologies boast the sexist and most original material out there. But I couldn’t help but wonder, how sexy and original can a Christmas erotica anthology be? I couldn’t imagine anything other than spanking Santas and naughty elves (which this anthology does contain.)
But I was delightfully surprised to see so much more than these to images throughout this anthology. A salacious taxi ride shared amongst two strangers, a devilish sprite named Puck, a modern day BDSM take on The Gift of the Magi. This book has it all!
Each author brings something versatile and original to the table in The Merry XXXmas book of erotica. With the turning of each page and the lustful thoughts that each scene evoked, I could almost feel my name rising higher and higher on Santa’s naughty list. This book is hot!
My personal favorite stories include Amanda and the Elf by Jean Roberta, Rapt by Saskia Walker, Tis the Season by Eric Williams, and Spider Monkey Loves Rudolph by Tom Piccirilli. As with most anthologies, the heat level of the stories in this book range from mild to wild. If you have an aversion to graphic depictions of sexual acts or strong language then this book may not be for you. But I’m sure that if you give it a chance, you’ll have something other than visions of sugar plums dancing in your head.

Chrissy fell in love with books at an early age. It all started with Judi Barrett’s Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. At the tender age of five she decided that she wanted to be a writer. Later, she graduated to books like A Wrinkle in Time, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, and the Goosebumps series, participating avidly in her school’s Book It program. High school brought on new challenges and loves. She began writing for the school’s newspaper and literary magazine. The works of Stephen King, Edgar Allan Poe, H.P. Lovecraft, and Shirley Jackson quickly overran her bookshelves. But when Chrissy was introduced to the world of Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance, a grand love affair was set in motion. She is an avid reader of romance, urban fantasy, horror, erotica, and cozy mysteries. After working for the city library for six years and being surrounded by the works of greatly admired authors, she decided to devote her life to writing full time and hasn’t looked back since. When she is not devouring book after book, Chrissy loves to cook, bake, volunteer at the local animal shelter, and feed her addiction for horror movies. She lives in Maryland with her family and beloved pets.
