Get to Know… Doll Alli

Submitted by Doll Alli on July 12, 2011 – 4:21 am11 Comments

Alli has always been a lover of books. Her mom even has a photograph of her sleeping curled up in a book rack as a young child. From reading R.L. Stein’s Fear Street books as a young teen to reading just about anything and everything these days, her love for great stories has never ceased. She even thought to pursue her love of books with an English degree in college, but decided science was more of her forte. She currently resides in Georgia with her husband, her Boston Terrier (Maddie), and two fluffy cats (Chummy, Lulu) where she works as a research scientist. When her nose isn’t in a book, she enjoys anything outdoorsy and running races/ triathlons in her spare time.

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST FEAR?
Failure. A close second is death.

WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT STATE OF MIND?
Irritated! LOL a trip was cut short due to a power outage. I was staying in a cabin in the North Georgia Mountains that was totally ill-equipped to deal with no power (no candles or flashlights). If I didn’t only live an hour away, we probably would of stuck it out anyway!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE OCCUPATION?(WAY OF SPENDING TIME)
I love sleeping. On weekends, it’s not uncommon for me to sleep 9+ hours.  But seriously, as crazy as it sounds, I enjoy training for triathlons and 5k/10k races. To date I’ve completed numerous 5ks, 10ks, 2 half marathons and one triathlon!

WHAT HISTORICAL FIGURE DO YOU MOST IDENTIFY WITH?
Baberham Lincoln. LOL Umm I really have no clue. I never was a history person, although it is a great story!

WHICH LIVING PERSON DO YOU MOST ADMIRE?
Anyone who lives life to the fullest without regret and enjoys every moment of it.

WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE FICTIONAL HERO?
Alice from Alice in Wonderland. Alice was totally the underdog and took down an entire empire without even knowing it! As a side note: I also thought as a child that it was “Allison’s Wonderland” So narcissistic! How sad I was to find out the truth!

WHO ARE YOUR REAL-LIFE HEROES?
Soliders and Teachers. Soldiers risk their lives for us every day to keep America safe. Teachers mold the minds of our youth, and do so without much reward.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST TREASURED POSSESSION?
My android Droid X – I’d be lost without it.

WHEN AND WHERE WERE YOU HAPPIEST?
I’m always happiest at the beach, either reading a book in the shade, or snorkeling in clear water. I guess this would include Hawaii and Curacao.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST OBVIOUS CHARACTERISTIC?
Personality – My sarcasm/wit Physically – My weird green eyes

WHAT IS THE TRAIT YOU MOST DEPLORE (HATE) IN YOURSELF?
I’m very critical of myself. I am also very fickle.

WHAT IS THE TRAIT YOU MOST DEPLORE IN OTHERS?
Indecisiveness. Don’t straddle the fence, just make up your mind! ‘Cause if you don’t, I’ll end up doing it for you and you may not like what *I* decide!

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST EXTRAVAGANCE?
My hair. I always have to have it done about every 6 weeks

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE JOURNEY?
The journey of life! Buckle your seat belts, it’s going to be  a bumpy ride.

WHAT DO YOU MOST DISLIKE ABOUT YOUR APPEARANCE?
My body, but that’s why I workout like a fiend! If you ever need a workout partner, I’m your gal!

WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER THE MOST OVER-RATED VIRTUE?
Morality. It’s a lot more fun to be bad or so I think ;)

ON WHAT OCCASION DO YOU LIE?
When telling the truth would be worse than the lie.

WHICH WORDS OR PHRASES DO YOU MOST OVER-USE?
“Sure” “That’s what she said”

IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT YOURSELF, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I’d wish to be like 5 inches taller

WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT?
Thus far? Finishing grad school in a year. This is subject to change as I haven’t finished living life yet!

WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO LIVE?
Hawaii in the winter, on the North Shore Beach. The Great Smokey Mountains in the summer in a nice log cabin.

WHAT IS THE QUALITY YOU MOST ADMIRE IN A MAN?
Humor. I love a man that can make me laugh and more importantly one that laughs at my jokes (regardless of how bad they are!)

WHAT IS THE QUALITY YOU MOST ADMIRE IN A WOMAN?
Independence. I think it’s great when a woman doesn’t NEED anyone but herself.

WHAT IS IT YOU MOST DISLIKE?
Impatience. Anytime someone is being impatient I just want to tell them to “CHILLLLLLLL”.

WHAT DO YOU VALUE MOST IN YOUR FRIENDS?
Loyalty and respect

HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO DIE?
Either in my sleep, or some other way really quickly so I don’t realize it.

IF YOU WERE TO DIE AND COME BACK AS A PERSON OR AN ANIMAL, WHAT DO YOU THINK IT WOULD BE?
Duh! I’d totally come back as an indoor cat! All they do is sleep, eat, and poop. Sounds like the best life ever!

IF YOU COULD CHOOSE AN OBJECT TO COME BACK AS, WHAT WOULD YOU CHOOSE?
A giant tree near hiking trails, maybe a giant redwood in the forest!

WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO (WORDS YOU LIVE BY OR THAT MEAN A LOT TO YOU)?
We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars – Oscar Wilde AND the tattoo I have on my shoulder Dum Spiro Spero – While I breathe, I hope.

WHO HAS BEEN THE GREATEST INFLUENCE ON YOU?
My husband. He keeps me sane (while driving me crazy as the same time!!) throughout the ridiculous little thing called life.

Ha Alli…my Virgo twinkie;-) A lot of our answers are similar or complete opposite like you wish you were a little bit taller, I wish I was a little shorter… I <3 you!

PS- her green eyes are not weird they are dazzling and her voice sounds just like Jackie from “That 70′s Show”

I like your answers! I wish I worked out like a fiend. I love sleeping too. I thought I was named after Laura Ingalls until my mom set me straight and I totally still believe The Black Stallion and the Girl is based on me. ;)
