Paperback Dolls Year in Review! The best, worst and most anticipated books!

Submitted by on January 1, 2011 – 7:00 am2 Comments

Well, it’s that time of the year, resolutions are being planned as I (Noa) write and let’s face it, who isn’t thinking of all those depressing post-New Year plans that have to finally be put into motion *coughs*diet*coughs* well, that’s no way to start a new year! Instead lets discuss things that are worth looking forward to – like books! 2010 was such an amazing year for books and for us Dolls, this was the year that Paperback Dolls became a reality and we got to share our love of books with you all.

So, when the time came to review the year, it was no easy task. It involved weeping, tantrums, screaming… and that was just me trying to narrow down my top picks. ;)
But we all sat down, rehashed reviews, authors, books and various genres and finally got to our top picks of 2010. Then we decided we couldn’t leave out your picks! Well, with so many interviews, features and review to choose from it wasn’t easy, in fact – each and every one of you had a personal favorite review. Which just goes to show, there’s a doll out there for each of you! But we did have a couple of favorite features…

As your favorite feature on paperbackdolls.com for 2010 the majority of votes went to:

Passport Feature!

Can we just say we agree? It is so much fun to bring books, authors and friends from around the world and share with our followers, We can’t wait to stamp that passport again in the New Year

As for favorite Interview/Q&A;, well, it was a close race and you guys were very clear in who your favorites were…

Elle Jasper and Ilona &Gordon; Andrews!

Both these authors got the majority of your votes! We loved asking those Paperback Proust questions, getting some tidbits on new books and trying to find original questions…We hope all the authors who visited in 2010 had fun taking part in our features, and would love to have them all back in 2011!

As always, we love to read your comments and suggestions – what would you like us to share with you in 2011? Comment below!

Well followers, that just about sums up 2010, now all we can do is raise our champagne glasses (non alcoholic for all you tweens) and say to you all:

Bring on 2011 and all those amazing books!

~xoxo~

Day is a dreamer who has never met a stranger. She is fearless and will talk to anyone and read anything! She taught music and dance and was a singer/actress for years, performing on stages both nationally and overseas. Now married with children, she spends less time singing on stage and more time writing songs at home. But, family life has not completely slowed this chick down. She still loves an adventure and learning new things. She resides in Texas with her family, Great Dane (Sophie), Labradoodles (George & Cosmo) and Chihuahua (Juan Carlos).

  • Karen says:

Good best choices – totally agree with Stacia Kane's Downside Ghosts series, Magic Bleeds and raised by Wolves. I also sadly agree with your most dissapointing MJ pick ;-(( I put in my post that it crushed my soul. A bit melodramatic but so true.

  • Day says:

Thank you! Mockingjay really broke my heart. :( But, many people loved it…Mona did! I agree with what you said, if it hadn't been a conclusion to a trilogy it may have been stellar.
