Author: Robyn Carr
Release: June 2013

Purchase:Single dad and Thunder Point’s deputy sheriff “Mac” McCain has worked hard to keep everyone safe and happy. Now he’s found his own happiness with Gina James. The longtime friends have always shared the challenges and rewards of raising their adolescent daughters. With an unexpected romance growing between them, they’re feeling like teenagers themselves-suddenly they can’t get enough of one another.
And just when things are really taking off, their lives are suddenly thrown into chaos. When Mac’s long-lost-and not missed-ex-wife shows up in town, drama takes on a whole new meaning. They’re wondering if their new feelings for each other can withstand the pressure…but they are not going down without a fight.
Okay first forget the title and don’t bother reading the back of this paperback. I don’t know if it was the publisher’s decision or Ms. Carr wrote it, but it’s barely a fraction of the story that is stuffed into the pages of her latest Thunder Point novel.
If you read the first book in the series, The Wanderer and loved Sarah and Cooper then you are in luck because their love story continues here in The Newcomer. I was actually happy about this because Coop and Sarah didn’t even meet until halfway through the first book.
I honestly wasn’t sure if I even liked this book until I sat down to write this review because I had some trouble getting over the fact the title for me really made no sense, there is a YA story line in the mix and I really don’t like YA. I think the last time I read YA it was Twilight and that entire series for me was, well MEH. The thing is Robyn Carr is a FANTASTIC writer and despite the obstacles I truly did enjoy this book once I stripped away the little things. And if you are already a fan of Robyn Carr than you will not be disappointed.
I am highly suggesting you put The Newcomer on your TBR ASAP! I know I have already put the next installment of Thunder Point, The Hero, on my TBR!
