By: Tom Becker & Mercer Mayer
Scholastic Ages: 9-12
All of the critical information kids need to know about the human body, with a zombie twist! From head-to-toe, every human body part will be explored and explained with a combination of illustrated zombies and full-color photographs throughout. Learn how many bones are in the human body, what blood’s made up of, how fast fingernails grow, where your dinner goes after you eat it, plus lots of fun zombie facts and tips so you can avoid losing your head (and brains) to one!
OK – So you’ve read The Walking Dead but you weren’t paying attention and you learned nothing about surviving the zombie apocalypse. Now you’re one of THEM. Well, here’s the book for you!
A Zombie’s Guide explains the human body and its functions starting with Body Basics (cells & DNA), to the body systems and ending with general health. There are also helpful Zombie survival tips like: What cells are the most nutritious? Nerve & muscle cells. Which are the tastiest? Liver cells – tangy, white cells – sweet, bones with metal plates are not good to chew on but make good weapons.
I may be stereotyping here but I think it would be especially interesting to boys who like that ick factor. This is a great book for kids that are likely to get bored from the traditional textbook format.
I hope you survive the invasion but hey – if you don’t it can’t hurt to be prepared. Zombies need to eat too.BRAAAINS – tasty & nutritious!
Special Thanks to our fabulous honorary doll, Karen from For What It’s Worth Reviews for contributing to our Zombie Week Extravaganza!

Thank goodness I read this. With Christmas coming up and having young grandsons, I was wondering what to get them that they didn't already have. This is right up their alley. LOL
Karen – thank you for sharing you review! I'm thinking this book would be perfect for my nephew – he's 9 but loves the guts and gore! :D
